Matman wrestling shoes

I cannot remember ever seeing an opponent in this style of wrestling shoe. Does anyone know the time circa for these? I picked these up at a neighbours garage sale, who said they thought thier son wrestled in them in the mid 70's, but they were not sure.

Soft glove leather or shiney patent leather? I think the glove leather looks better, and I know it feels much nicer on the skin. :) These are almost 14" high.

Here are the outside limits in sizes of my wrestling shoe collection. I do have smaller sizes but they are not from guys I've known & wrestled. I wonder what is the largest size of wrestling shoe you can get?
